Chelsea became the first club to win all five major UEFA competitions after a second-half masterclass inspired by Cole Palmer led the Blues to a resounding 4–1 comeback victory over Real Betis Balompié in the Uefa Europa Conference League final on Wednesday night.

Trailing 1–0 at the break, Chelsea struck four unanswered goals in the second half. Enzo Fernández equalised in the 65th minute, Nicolas Jackson added a second five minutes later, Jadon Sancho put the tie beyond reach in the 83rd minute, and Moisés Caicedo’s stoppage-time strike sealed a dominant finish for the Londoners at Eden Arena in Prague.

It was Betis who drew first blood. Brimming with confidence after securing Europa League qualification through their sixth-place LaLiga finish, the Spanish side took a deserved lead in the 9th minute.

Abde Ezzalzouli drilled home his sixth Conference League goal of the season following a clever cutback from Isco.

The early breakthrough energised Manuel Pellegrini’s men, who nearly doubled their advantage moments later through Marc Bartra’s curling effort, only for Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen to tip it over the bar.

Betis continued to threaten as Johnny Cardoso wasted a golden chance to extend the lead, blazing over from inside the box.

Chelsea, meanwhile, struggled to create clear opportunities before the interval, with only a speculative Pedro Neto strike testing Betis goalkeeper Adrián.

However, a tactical reshuffle from Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at half-time — including the introduction of captain Reece James — shifted the momentum.

The Blues emerged with renewed intensity and found their equaliser in the 65th minute. Palmer delivered a perfect cross from the right, met by Fernández’s deft header into the far corner.

Just five minutes later, Palmer turned provider again. Weaving past two defenders, he whipped in a low cross that Jackson tapped in from close range to complete the turnaround.

Betis, stunned by the quickfire goals, lost their grip on the game as Chelsea pushed to finish the job.

In the 83rd minute, substitutes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jadon Sancho combined brilliantly, with Sancho curling in a sublime third to all but end the contest.

Chelsea weren’t done. Deep into stoppage time, Moisés Caicedo’s deflected shot wrong-footed Adrián to make it 4–1 and secure the trophy with style.

The win not only ends a nine-match losing streak for English clubs against Spanish sides in UEFA finals but also etches Chelsea into history as the first team to win the Champions League, Europa League, Cup Winners’ Cup, Super Cup, and now the Conference League.

“We knew what was at stake — not just a trophy, but history,” said Maresca. “The second half showed what this team is capable of when it clicks.”

For Chelsea, it marks a fifth successive victory in a European final and a potential springboard for a new era of success under Maresca.

For Betis, it was a painful collapse after a promising first half, but their place in next season’s Europa League offers redemption.

Chelsea’s night in Prague will be remembered not only for the silverware but for completing a full house of UEFA honours — a rare feat that sets a new standard on the continent.
