12 NUP Supporters Arrested at a Hotel in Kitgum, NUPs Sec-Gen Rubongoya Reveals what They Were Doing

National Unity Platform Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya has expressed his concern over the arrest of 12 NUP supporters who were arrested by Police in Kitgum.
In a post on X, the renowned politician revealed that the suspects were arrested by Police During an NUP meeting at a hotel in Kitgum.
National Unity Platform Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya :"Since Wednesday last week, when they were arrested from a hotel in Kitgum, these 12 comrades who were found in a meeting under the leadership of @NUP_Ug mobiliser Ocaya Charles remain detained at Kitgum Central Police Station".
Mr. Rubongoya revealed that the NUP supporters were holding a meeting to plan for National Unity Platform, President Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine's visit to Kitgum.
" Their crime was meeting to plan for our leader @HEBobiwine 's visit to Kitgum District! As always, the interrogation was not about any crime, but why they're promoting NUP in the district. Our teams have been following up only to be told by the police that they're still consulting people 'above' on the way forward. Way past 48 hours! The impunity".
The incident also caught the attention of Bobi Wine who claimed that the government is trying to intimidate their supporters ahead of the 2026 Presidential elections.
