'Today marks the final year of 11th Parliament'-Speaker Among
Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has marked the beginning of the final year of the 11th Parliament by hailing it as a model of people-centered legislation.
“Today marks the final year of the 11th Parliament. This Parliament has been the epitome of a people-centered legislature,” she stated.
Among also extended her appreciation to President Museveni, praising his consistent support to the legislative arm of government.
“I want to commend PresideMuseveni for his unwavering support to the legislature,” she said.
The Speaker called on Ugandans to reflect on the nation’s journey, highlighting the need to assess both the achievements and the current challenges.
“It is a historic opportunity for all patriots and all people of goodwill to reflect on our collective achievements as a nation and take stock of the prevailing challenges and opportunities for the sustained growth of our nation,” she noted.
The 11th Parliament, which commenced in 2021, is expected to conclude its term in 2026.
