An ambulance donated by the Member of Parliament for Rubaga North Constituency, Abubakar Kawalya, was involved in a serious accident along Masaka Road .

The ambulance, which has been serving the constituency for four years, was reportedly hit by a truck while returning to Kampala from Masaka.

According to reports, the accident occurred when the ambulance was on its way back to Kampala.

The driver, Councilor Mawanda, miraculously survived the crash, although he sustained serious injuries.

"We thank God for the life of our ambulance driver, Councilor Mawanda, who survived this terrible accident with injuries," the MP's office said in a statement.

The accident is expected to cause disruptions to the constituent services provided by the MP's office. The ambulance has been instrumental in transporting deceased individuals in the constituency for the past four years.

"The incident will cause disruptions to our constituent services for a period," the statement read. "We regret any inconvenience this may cause to our constituents and appreciate their understanding during this challenging time."
