State Minister in the Office of the Vice President, Diana Mutasingwa, has called on women in Buikwe District to take full advantage of the GROW (Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women) project, describing it as a powerful tool for economic transformation.

Mutasingwa made the remarks while commissioning road works in Nsakya and Busabaga parishes within Najjembe and Kawolo Divisions in Lugazi Municipality.

She said the roads, once completed, will significantly improve access and connectivity in the region, enabling safer movement and stimulating local trade.

“These roads are not just about transport. They are about opening up communities to opportunities and improving people’s lives,” she said during the launch.

Later, at the Buikwe District headquarters, the minister joined dozens of women for a training session organized by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development under the GROW initiative.

The session focused on building women’s skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business growth strategies.

Mutasingwa applauded the Ministry of Gender for rolling out impactful programs that uplift women across Uganda.

“I’m grateful to the Ministry for empowering our women. Projects like GROW are key to ensuring women take charge of their economic destinies,” she said.

She urged women in Buikwe to register, participate actively in skilling programs, and use the knowledge to create sustainable businesses that benefit both families and communities.

Mutasingwa’s twin engagements in Lugazi and Buikwe underscore her role as a champion for grassroots development, with a focus on infrastructure and women’s empowerment.
