Ssemujju Nganda: Over 8,000 PFF Founders to Elect Interim Leaders on July 8

The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) is set to take a major step in its formal organisation as thousands of its founding members prepare to elect interim leaders.
This was revealed by PFF spokesperson and Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda during an interview at Capital FM on Saturday.
Ssemujju confirmed that a committee led by veteran politician Wafula Oguttu has been tasked with overseeing the preparations for the upcoming meeting.
“We have a committee headed by Wafula Oguttu. The founders, who are more than 8,000, will convene at Katongo on July 8, 2025, to elect interim leaders," Ssemujju said.
The move signals growing momentum within the PFF, which has positioned itself as a progressive political platform aiming to champion accountability, good governance, and democratic reforms in Uganda.
While the group has attracted attention through public statements and grassroots mobilisation, this will be the first structured leadership selection process since its inception.
The July 8 gathering at Katongo is expected to draw delegates from across the country. The election of interim leaders is being seen as a crucial step toward formal registration and broader national political engagement.
Observers say the involvement of figures like Wafula Oguttu—former Leader of Opposition in Parliament—adds credibility and historical weight to the new platform.
Ssemujju has previously stated that the PFF will serve as a people-driven vehicle, distinct from traditional political parties
