Arts Teachers Earn 4 Times Less than Science Teachers, It's Not Fair

The leader of opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi has expressed his concern over the alleged difference in Salaries of Art and Science teachers.

The renowned politician who was speaking in parliament claimed that Arts Teachers Earn 4 times less than their science colleagues, he went on to say that in as much as they don't call for the salaries of Art teachers to be reduced, all teachers should be paid equally.

Leader of opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi :"The worry is parents are very concerned because Arts teachers have stated that they are not going to carry out the assessment which is like the marking, grading and all that.

It is not fair that Arts teachers earn 4 times less than science teachers. We are not saying that the salaries of the Science teachers should be reduced all we are saying is that, you can't do it for some and leave the rest".

This is happening at the same time when the Minister of Education, Janet Museveni has stated that the government under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is going to look into this.

She also called upon these teachers to go back to work, give time for Govt to address their issue.
