Juliana honoured for her contribution to Uganda’s music

Juliana Kanyomozi was yesterday, Thursday awarded an honorary accolade for the contribution she has made to Uganda’s music industry.

Juliana received a Certificate in Music from the Mariam Ndagire Film and Performing Arts Centre (MNFPAC).

The institute offers training in film for emerging filmmakers and mentorship for aspiring filmmakers and youth in Uganda. It encompasses film production, screenwriting, directing, producing, cinematography, editing, sound recording, and acting.

Juliana was awarded the certificate at the institute’s third graduation ceremony.

She praised the songbird for her talent and for managing to broaden her fan base to East Africa and beyond.

“She has over 30 hit songs which have won multilevel awards in Uganda, East Africa, Africa and beyond,” Ndagire remarked.

“She is the true definition of talent coupled with passion and we at MNFPAC feel that this phenomenal vocalist deserves a certificate in music.”

On her part, Juliana expressed appreciation to Mrs Ndangire and MNFPAC for recognising her efforts.

“This is so special for me because it is coming from a woman that I have loved and admired for so many years,” she said.

“It is amazing how much time can fly because, you look back and realise how much you have done and it seems like it all happened in a blink of an eye.”

Last year, MNFPAC awarded the same accolade to artists including Annet Nandujja, Moses Matovu and Irene Namatovu
