The Rotaract Club of Bwebajja, collaborating with 15 partnering Rotary and Rotaract clubs, officially began Day One of its "Seven Days of Service" initiative at Bugiri Public Primary School. The day's activities primarily focused on Basic Education Literacy and Menstrual Health.

The initial phase involved the distribution of scholastic materials. These supplies, which included school bags, exercise books, mathematical sets, pens, pencils, and rulers, were provided to over 150 children, aiming to directly support their educational progress.

Following the distribution of educational supplies, the teams conducted an informative session on menstrual hygiene. This session was designed to educate adolescent girls on effective menstrual health management. Additionally, boys present were encouraged to develop a supportive and understanding attitude towards their female peers. A significant contribution from AFRIpads facilitated the distribution of over 100 reusable sanitary pads. This initiative aims to help reduce school absenteeism among girls that might be caused by menstruation.

A volunteer involved in the day's events commented on the broader purpose of the initiative, stating, "The objective was to provide essential support and to cultivate an environment conducive to both learning and overall well-being within the community."

This day of service was a result of the combined efforts of several Rotary and Rotaract clubs. These included the Rotary Clubs of Bwebajja, Garuga, Muyenga Tankhill, Seguku, Bwerenga, Kansanga, Lungujja, and Entebbe Base. Also participating were the Rotaract Clubs of Bunga, Bwebajja, Bwerenga, Victoria University, Kyengera, Muyenga Tankhill, and Kampala North.

The successful execution of the event was also supported by key sponsors. These contributors included Next Media Services, C-Care Foundation, Joint Medical Stores, AFRIpads, and Euroflex.

Day One of the service initiative successfully marked the start of a Rotary year-themed "Unite for Good, Together One Act at a Time," indicating a continued dedication to community engagement and development efforts.
