Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has revealed that the National Unity Platform (NUP) contributed UGX 5 million to support the first national delegates conference of the Platform for the Future (PFF) party.

Ssemujju, who serves as PFF’s Secretary General and spokesperson, disclosed the information during a media interview, saying the contribution was made in good faith after the party reached out to NUP for support.

“NUP party gave us UGX 5 million for our first delegates conference. We reached out to them as friends and they made a contribution," Ssemujju said.

The PFF delegates conference, held earlier this year, marked a key milestone for the newly formed political party.

It was during this gathering that PFF elected its first set of national leaders and unveiled its political roadmap ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Ssemujju's public acknowledgement of NUP’s donation sheds light on the growing spirit of cooperation among opposition forces, especially in a political climate often marked by rivalry and mistrust.

It also highlights the increasing trend of inter-party solidarity among opposition formations looking to challenge the dominance of the ruling NRM.

Although the UGX 5 million contribution may seem modest, Ssemujju emphasized that it was the gesture that mattered most.

“The support symbolized friendship and willingness to see each other succeed in organizing,” he added.
