Prince Harry reportedly instructed King Charles to purchase a 'less extravagant gift' for Lilibet
King Charles had planned to give his granddaughter Lilibet a very lavish gift for her second birthday earlier this month, before being handed a 'warning' on what to purchase by Prince Harry.
The monarch is said to be "desperate" to create a bond with Meghan Markle and Harry's kids as the youngster turns three.
However, while he was reportedly hopeful of providing a pricy present to his granddaughter, it's claimed he was instructed to opt for a 'less extravagant' gift than he had planned, by his second-born son.

According to OK! Magazine, a source explained that Charles had "his aides looking at custom-made cubby houses, similar to what the queen and Princess Margaret had when they were girls." The insider added: "He wants to give Lili something she will use and be hers. She’ll remember it forever – it’s going to be the ultimate surprise."
It's unclear, however, whether the King heeded Harry's wishes or went all out for the youngster, who is seventh in line to the throne.
Despite the King's apparent private plans for his granddaughter's birthday celebrations, he - alongside other senior royals - noticeably chose not to share a public birthday tribute on Twitter/X, as is usually the custom.
A royal source told the same publication it was because they "don’t mark the birthdays of non-working members". "They, of course, wish Lilibet a very happy birthday, but nothing will be put out on any channels," the insider claimed.
It marks a different policy to that of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who honoured her great-granddaughter with a Twitter post for her first birthday. "Wishing Lilibet a very Happy 1st Birthday!" the Queen shared via her official social media account at the time.
It's thought that Meghan and Harry threw their daughter an intimate party on the weekend before her third birthday. Despite no royals being in attendance, other family members, friends and several of Lilibet's pals were said to have been a part of the celebration
