Dombo Urges Aggrieved NRM Members to Seek Redress Through Tribunal

Emmanuel Dombo, the NRM director for information and publicity has urged members dissatisfied with the recent primary election outcomes to seek redress through the official election tribunal or pursue reconciliation in the interest of party unity ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Commenting about the outcome of the countrywide polls, Dombo congratulated the entire NRM fraternity for the successful holding of the primaries.
"We wish to congratulate the winners and kindly request them that they should celebrate with decorum and respect the people they competed with. This will help us to maintain unity within the party,"Dombo said.
He described the primaries as a success, uploading the national party chairman, President Museveni for the "wise counsel and provision of resources" to enable them do the work , as well as Secretary General, Richard Todwong.
Dombo reiterated the party's commitment to transparency and fairness, encouraging petitioners to present their grievances with supporting evidence before the tribunal.
"To those who feel there was injustice, the party has established an election tribunal that will consider any petition based on its merits and evidence," the statement read.
However, he said the party has also opened the door for alternative resolution paths.
"If you feel that reconciliation is possible outside of the tribunal process, we still encourage and welcome you. What matters most is unity as we move forward," the party added.
He emphasized that while the primaries have concluded, the upcoming general elections require a united front and the support of all party members to secure victory.
"I therefore call upon you that as you reflect the personal benefit as an individual, focus on the general good of the NRM and Uganda as a country. So that we move together because united we shall stand but divided we fall. NRM is being built, and its foundation enhanced. Let me hope all of us, as members of NRM, shall work together to do that," Dombo said.
