Tensions Simmer as Minister Ssebugwawo Declares Boycott of Bulange over Kingdom Wrangles

Fresh tensions have rocked Buganda Kingdom leadership following reports that Minister Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo has vowed never to set foot in Bulange again, citing unresolved grievances with Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga. The fallout comes just days before President Museveni's recent visit to Bulange for a groundbreaking ceremony.
Sources reveal that panic swept through the planning team when word spread that the Katikkiro was allegedly attempting to block the presidential event. Among those alarmed was Ssebugwawo herself, who reportedly anticipated interference.
According to reliable accounts, while at State House Entebbe, Ssebugwawo declared that she would only return to Bulange if Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi relieves Katikkiro Mayiga of his duties, a move she believes is inevitable.
Ssebugwawo expressed frustration over what she termed a lack of appreciation by the Kingdom, even referencing her late brother, Eng. Daniel Ssebuggwawo, whose sacrifices during Uganda’s abolition of kingdoms remain unrecognized.
The tension stems from a past dispute where Ssebugwawo led clan heads to meet President Museveni, defying Kingdom protocol and prompting a lasting rift
