Four Killed in Tororo-Mbale Road Crash Involving Trailer, Motorcycle, and Saloon Car

At least four people have died following a horrific road accident this evening along the Tororo-Mbale highway near the roundabout by the Tororo sewerage facility.
The crash involved a trailer, a motorcycle, and a saloon car.
Witnesses say the trailer, registration number ZD 6204, failed to brake and rammed into a motorcycle UGC 752X carrying a rider and two passengers. All three died instantly.
The trailer then crashed into a saloon car UAQ 948X, killing one of its occupants and critically injuring others. In total, four people were confirmed dead, and several others sustained injuries of varying severity.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Tororo General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
The injured were rushed to various health facilities in Tororo town for emergency care.
Preliminary police investigations indicate the trailer was speeding at the time of the accident. Authorities have launched a full inquiry.
This is the second fatal accident at the same spot in less than a week, prompting renewed calls from residents and motorists for stricter traffic enforcement.
Many accuse trailer drivers of reckless driving, with some allegedly operating under the influence of alcohol.
Police have urged all road users to observe speed limits and follow traffic regulations to avert further tragedy.
