Luwero District police have successfully recovered a stolen motor vehicle and arrested three suspects believed to be part of a larger car theft operation. The recovered vehicle, a G Touring Corolla with registration number UAV 770L, was stolen from a residence in Wobulenzi town council on the 9th of September 2025. Following an investigation and intelligence received on the 15th of September, police launched an operation that led to the arrests.

The suspects include Kalyesubula David, aged 28, who drove the stolen car from the crime scene to Buwambo in Wakiso District, where it was recovered. Ssentogo Musa, also 28, was said to have assisted in facilitating the theft, while Kiwanuka Geoffrey, 23, is believed to be the organizer of the vehicle theft ring responsible for selling stolen cars, including the recovered Corolla.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to stealing another vehicle, a white Ipsum with registration number UAN 906J, on the 11th of August 2025 from Katikamu sub-county. This car was sold to a mechanic in Bwaise, Kampala, and remains unrecovered. The suspects revealed that Kakuru Keneth is the mastermind behind the theft operations. Keneth reportedly left prison earlier this year after serving a sentence for similar crimes and is currently wanted by police.

Authorities have recommended thorough interrogation of the arrested suspects to uncover additional theft cases, retrieval of related case files from all district police stations, and immediate efforts to trace and apprehend Kakuru Keneth. Police investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected in due course.

ASP S.Twiineamazima of Pro Savannah Police emphasized that the operation demonstrates the commitment of Luwero police to fighting vehicle theft and ensuring public safety
