In a quiet moment before the storm of public life, Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi, wife of Ugandan opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, shared photos of her giving her husband a final touch-up.

The images, which quickly circulated online, show the couple's unified front as they embark on one of the most significant political journeys in the nation.

The fashion extravaganza delivered a mix of high-end fashion, electrifying performances, and star-studded appearances, leaving attendees mesmerised.

ASFAS founder and celebrated fashion entrepreneur, Brian Ahumuza, famously known as Abryanz, revealed the theme for this year’s edition: “The FASHIVISTS.” 

The dress, a cultural symbol for Banyankole women, sparked a debate online after both leaders, who are from the Teso region in Eastern Uganda, were photographed wearing it during prominent public events.

The Field of Contenders

Bobi Wine is being nominated on Wednesday afternoon at the Electoral Commission site in Lubowa joining five others in the race.

This is his second attempt at the country’s highest office.

The incumbent president, Yoweri Museveni, was formally declared a candidate at the same venue yesterday after his nomination was backed by over two million supporters. 

His ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has put forth his candidacy for what would be a seventh term in office, following the removal of a constitutional age limit. 

ANT’s Gregory Mugisha Muntu and FDC Nathan Nandala Mafabi are also being nominated today
