Nabbosa to Critics: “Don’t Judge Me from a TV Interview, I’ll Learn on the Job!”
Mityana — National Unity Platform (NUP) flagbearer Proscovia Nabbosa has clapped back at critics who trolled her over her recent Baba TV interview, saying she’s not here to impress journalists but to serve the people of Mityana.
“Don’t judge me from a TV interview,” Nabbosa said with a laugh. “Everyone learns from the job. I’ll learn how Parliament operates and I’ll serve my people.”
The actress-turned-politician found herself trending for all the wrong reasons after her on-air responses left many wondering if she was ready for the political big leagues. But Nabbosa, known for her confidence both on and off camera, seems unbothered by the social media chatter.
It should be remembered that Nabbosa is facing a tough race against seasoned contenders — NRM’s Judith Nabakooba and the incumbent Joyce Bagala Ntwatwa, who was dropped by NUP in favor of Nabbosa. When asked how she plans to beat such political heavyweights, she gave a reply that turned heads across Uganda.
With zero hesitation, Nabbosa said, “Everyone who was on the NUP ticket in 2021 won their vote.”
That bold statement left many scratching their heads — and others laughing — wondering if Nabbosa was running on policy or pure party magic. Critics say she appears to have no clear ideology or manifesto beyond waving the NUP flag high.
But to her supporters, that confidence is exactly what makes her stand out. “She’s real, she’s bold, and she’s learning,” one fan said. “At least she’s honest — not pretending to know everything.”
