General Mega Dee earns PhD in the United States.
Congratulations are pouring in for veteran Ugandan musician General Mega Dee, real name Kigenyi Amos, who has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from California Intercontinental University in the United States.
The singer, known for his vibrant hits and energetic performances in the early 2000s, has steadily reinvented himself since relocating to the U.S. with his family. Over the years, Mega Dee has channelled his passion and discipline into academics, achieving remarkable milestones.
In 2021, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care, followed by his PhD last year — a testament to his resilience and commitment to personal growth.
Taking to his social media pages, the elated musician reflected on his journey from the music stage to academic excellence, describing it as one marked by determination, faith, and perseverance.
“From the rhythms of a humble musician’s struggle to the melodies of academic triumph, my journey has been nothing short of extraordinary,” he wrote. “I have walked through hard stones, faced doubts, and conquered fears, emerging not just as a survivor but as a self-made champion.”
Mega Dee expressed gratitude to those who doubted him, saying their disbelief became his motivation to excel.
“This is academic excellence at its peak, earned with distinction, not bestowed as an honorary gesture. It is the fruit of perseverance, sleepless nights, and an unyielding spirit,” he added.
The musician dedicated his achievement to his wife, children, and entire family, crediting their love and support for helping him overcome challenges along the way.
Once a household name in Uganda’s entertainment scene, General Mega Dee’s latest milestone cements his transformation from a celebrated artist to a beacon of inspiration for those pursuing education later in life.
