Trigger Happy Police Officer Kills Colleague In A Night Operation
A shocking incident unfolded in Kasenge Cell, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District on the early morning of October 27, 2025, leaving the police community and residents in mourning. D/SGT Mulika Sulaiman, a 41-year-old officer attached to Katwe Police Division, was fatally shot while responding to an ongoing operation against suspected criminals. The tragedy occurred at around 3:00 a.m., highlighting the dangers law enforcement officers face even in routine operations.
According to reports from SP Chebene Rogers, the DPC of Nsangi Police Division, the officer had been dispatched along with his team on UP 5509 to investigate a case of alleged malicious damage in Kasenge. On reaching the scene, they intercepted a canter truck carrying axes, pangas, and hoes, and arrested two suspects. The operation initially appeared to be under control, but events quickly escalated into violence.
Ten minutes later, additional police personnel arrived on the scene riding a Bajaj motorcycle. It was at this critical moment that AIP Musisi Eriya, a 58-year-old police officer from Kikajjo Police Post, opened fire. D/SGT Mulika Sulaiman was struck by the bullet and tragically died while being rushed to Mulago Hospital. The incident has left colleagues and residents shocked and saddened, as the officer was known for his dedication and courage.
Police authorities immediately responded by sending a team of uniformed officers, detectives, and D/SOCO led by D/ASP Poteri Ronald to secure and document the crime scene. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspect, AIP Musisi, is currently in custody. Statements have been recorded, and police are working tirelessly to uncover the motive behind the shooting and ensure justice is served.
