Police Raid Bobi Wine’s Hotel In Lira City With Tear Gas At Night

In a dramatic turn of police after a full month of successful campaigns in the different parts of the country, police has been thrown in the spotlight after it broke into a hotel where Bobi Wine and his team were sleeping in the mid of the night and started pepper spraying every room.

Even when there’s no justification for pepper spraying rooms with occupants who are sleeping, police did it but after realizing Bobi Wine’s team were recording everything on camera, the police retreated from the hotel without revealing the reason for the raid.

Bobi Wine has had a relatively peaceful campaign trail from Busoga to Buganda to Bukedi, to Bugisu to Bunyoro and now to Lango save for a few incidents where police blocked him entering Iganga Municipality and Bukungu landing site.

He also had a confrontation with police in Kakumiro where police parked it’s helicopter in the grounds where he was set to hold his campaign rally. He however continued at the same venue with his group and they held a rally at the same place.

In the videos seen by this publication, Bobi Wine’s music producer Sir Dan Magic while speaking to NTV said he had one police officer talking on phone that they’re looking for Bobi Wine’s bodyguard Geoffrey Ongima also known as High Tower.

According to a police statement released earlier in the day, police alleges that Geoffrey Ongima alias High Tower attacked and robbed a police patrol vehicle and deflated it’s four tyres. The team claimed the police vehicle was harboring signal jammers which were hampering their communication.
