Lukwago calls crisis meeting after devastating flood in downtown Kampala
Parts of downtown Kampala turned into a shallow lake this morning after heavy rains unleashed flash floods that swept through shops, streets, and the new taxi park, reigniting public fury over the controversial Nakivubo Channel redevelopment. Traders watched helplessly as their merchandise floated away, many pointing fingers at the ongoing construction project backed by businessman Hamis Kiggundu, which they accused of choking the city’s main drainage artery.
