Media personality and businesswoman Anitah Fabiola has disclosed the emotional battle with postpartum depression and anxiety following the birth of her twins with husband Mark Mubiru in June.

Fabiola revealed that despite being a meticulous planner who had prepared extensively for motherhood, nothing could have prepared her for the mental and emotional challenges that came with welcoming her babies.

I had made my research and read everything there’s to read about postpartum. I put systems in place before I went to give birth and I actually even had plenty of help, but still, postpartum depression hit me.

Fabiola explained that her recovery journey was long, painful, and emotionally draining, as she constantly battled guilt, fear, and anxiety about her new responsibilities as a mother.

I felt postpartum depression slowly creep up on me and I didn’t even know what to do to stop it. I had so much pain, the anxiety, and the weight of this whole new world in the beginning was really a lot.
