JINJA: Primary School Teacher Arrested for Sodomizing own Pupil

A 22 year old teacher at Hamry Nursery and Primary School located in Wanyange Hill, Jinja district has been arrested for allegedly sodomizing a minor aged 11.

Emmanuel Gaga who is a teacher of English was arrested on Monday, 10th November, 2025 having committed the offence on 8th November, 2025.

According to James Mubi, the Kiira Regional Police spokesperson says Gaga has been charged with aggravated homosexuality contrary to section 2(1) & 3 (1) (2) (a) (e) of the Anti-Homosexuality Act.

He adds that the above section says aggravating factors include the person against whom the offence is committed is a child and the offender is a person in authority over the person against whom the offence is committed.

Mubi says a medical examination has been conducted and confirms the accused person is of sound mind and he admits having committed the offence on November 8, 2025.

Police says the suspect lured the victim to his rented room, before the fateful hour on November 8. The victim purportedly performed the household chores for instance washing clothes and moping the offender’s single rented room in Musima village, Wanyange – Jinja district.

Preliminary investigations indicate that, the suspect has been purportedly bringing boys to his room creating suspicions by his neighbors about his alleged sexual attraction to boys or men.

He says the school directors, Headteacher, and top management or persons in authority should consider addressing issues of unwanted sexual behavior seriously to avoid learners feeling frightened about attending school.

Mubi says Kiira regional police command remains committed to issues regarding safety and security of learners in primary and secondary schools as well as institutions of higher learning.
