Douglas Lwanga and Lindah Lisa’s love story: How a newspaper article sparked a lasting connection

Popular media personality Douglas Lwanga shared the story of how he met his wife, Lindah Lisa — their journey began when Douglas was working at Record TV, located in Kamwokya by then. At that time, Lindah was already a well-known figure in Kampala’s nightlife scene.

The encounter started with a story Douglas picked up from the Red Pepper newspaper. Lindah had just split from her boyfriend, and Douglas decided to narrate this story on air, given Lindah’s popularity.

This didn’t sit well with Lindah, who was furious about her personal life being broadcasted.

Accompanied by her friend Nisha, she stormed over to confront Douglas.

When Lindah and Nisha arrived, Douglas explained that the story was sourced from the newspaper and apologized for any offense it caused.

Lindah, to his surprise, accepted his apology calmly and assured him that it was okay.

We started to talk and became friends. I am a very secretive person when I am going through things so I found her a very safe person.

Through these conversations, their friendship grew into a deeper connection, eventually leading them to become lovers.
