Three Killed As Gunmen Torch Vehicle In Koboko District
Three people were brutally killed in the early hours of Friday after unidentified assailants attacked and set ablaze the Toyota HiAce (commonly known as a Drone) they were travelling in at Diobe Village, Metino Parish, Abuku Sub-county in Koboko District.
The 2am attack left the victims — whose identities remain unknown — burnt beyond recognition. Authorities say the assailants ambushed the vehicle before killing the occupants and torching the car, registration number UA 186BP.
Residents, still shaken by the violence, suspect the attackers may have targeted the trio on allegations of cattle theft.
The area has suffered a string of cattle raids in recent months, heightening community tensions and suspicion.
Police transported the bodies to Koboko Hospital mortuary and towed the charred vehicle from the crime scene.
Security teams have since launched investigations to establish the motive, track the killers, and verify whether the incident is connected to the ongoing cattle-theft conflicts in the region.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and report any information that could assist in identifying the victims and bringing the attackers to justice.
