NRM MP flag bearer elated after winning UGX 680 million from fixed games

In an astonishing turn of events, a woman Member of Parliament, flag bearer for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Northern Uganda, has seen her political fortunes transformed overnight.

The aspiring MP, whose identity we are protecting for security reasons, has won a massive 680 million Ugandan shillings from the Uganda Bettors Association’s widely discussed fixed games.

The win comes as a miraculous financial injection for her campaign, which she admits was on the verge of collapse due to the exorbitant costs of modern politics.

In an exclusive phone interview, the overjoyed candidate couldn’t contain her excitement. “Ever since I won the party flag, the campaigns have been financially draining me. At one point, I seriously considered quitting the race,” she confessed.

Her despair, however, turned into divine curiosity. “They say God works in mysterious ways. I was scrolling through my news feed when I landed on a story about a university student who won a life-changing amount from the Uganda Bettors Association fixed games. I was so impressed and moved; I decided to give it a try.”

“I asked them how it works, and since I don’t know how to bet, I pleaded with them to help me just like they helped the student,” she narrated. “They agreed. They asked for a subscription fee and a stake, which I sent. After staking, they sent me a ticket. I’ll be honest, I still didn’t know what to do with it!”

The following day, her phone buzzed with a message that would change everything.

“They sent me a congratulations message, but I was still in disbelief. How could I win a game I didn’t even understand?” she recalled with a laugh. “They asked for my bank details, deposited the money, and advised me to contact my bank. Within a few hours, the entire 680 million shillings was in my account.”

“I still didn’t believe it until I went to the bank and successfully withdrew 10 million shillings as a sample. I just couldn’t believe my eyes!”
