Mathias Mpuuga Tells What Must Happen For Kyagulanyi to Qualify for his Vote

DF President Mathias Mpuuga has made it clear that Bobi Wine has to demonstrate that he qualifies for and deserves his vote for the position of President as opposed to merely instigating foot soldiers to intimidate him into involuntarily declaring support for him.

Mpuuga was speaking at a Friday campaigning event in Masaka City where one of the attendees parroted Muwanga Kivumbi’s chauvinistic talking points by demanding that incumbent Nyendo Mukungwe MP and his DF party must declare who they support for President before seeking votes for their flag bearer or candidates for lower-level positions.

Abed Bwanika was the first to respond to this question and narrated how it was him who made Kyagulanyi and even introduced him to the populace in Masaka more than five years ago. Bwanika made reference to the Arua fracas of 2018 out of which Kyagulanyi emerged stronger. Because of the publicity he got out of the Arua violence, many believe that it was after Arua that Kyagulanyi got to be accepted as the man to take on Museveni as the leading contender from the opposition.

Abed Bwanika said that the Kampala Centenary Park meeting, which decided on the Kyagulanyi involvement into Arua, was chaired and funded by him. He added that he also funded Kyagulanyi’s travel and stay in Arua and participation in the by-election campaigns that saw veteran politician Kassiano Wadri defeat NRM’s Nusura Tiperu and become the new MP for Arua Municipality (now City). The killing of Kyagulanyi’s driver during the Arua fracas and the street protests and dramatic arrest that followed got Kyagulanyi to grab media headlines not only in Uganda but globally.

Bwanika admitted that event, more than anything else, catapulted Kyagulanyi to political stardom nobody ever imagined would come that fast. In the same response, Bwanika demanded credit and recognition for the role he played in enacting the Arua events from which Kyagulanyi derived so much political capital.

He shouted at the young man who had raised the question at the Friday Masaka rally while demanding that the larger populace present make their own comparison and decide for themselves who between him and the questioner loved Kyagulanyi more. “I did all that for Kyagulanyi using person money. You also tell us what you did to prop him up,” a fire-breathing Bwanika ranted while charging at the young man (all said and done organizers of these DF campaign events deserve kudos for allowing dissenters to attend and ask questions at such gatherings).

Mpuuga, speaking immediately after, agreed that Bwanika took greater risks to prop up Kyagulanyi than many foot soldiers who now claim to love him more. “He single-handedly looked into the camera and demanded that Dr. Besigye gives way for Kyagulanyi because he had tried four times without success. That was risky because, as you recall, many took to social media and abused Dr. Abed but he never relented in his demands that now was time for Kyagulanyi,” Mpuuga said.

At the same event, Bwanika repeated his controversial claim that Muwanga Kivumbi was a very ungrateful person because he forgot Mathias Mpuuga and was now fighting to remove him from Parliament yet it was him (Mpuuga) who used personal money to buy for Butambala County MP his very first suit.

Mpuuga (who said if he only said a quarter of the dirty personal information he has on adversaries like Muwanga, Beti Nambooze and Joel Senyonyi the trio would wish the ground swallowed them) elaborated that there is a lot he did for Muwanga Kivumbi over the years and without that input, his story would have ended very differently. “Muwanga is older than myself but without me, he wouldn’t be what he is today. There is a lot I did to prop him up,” said Mpuuga in a Luganda speech.

He added that he was a good man who had done many good things for a lot of people but was being betrayed and demonized by those very people simply because human beings are always full of envy (enugu). He wondered why some people could be so petty to the extent of envying him merely because he wears nice suits and speaks good English.

“Today I will speak strictly in Luganda to avoid hurting some envious people. I’m also going to rarely wear suits so that I simplify life for those who envy me for that,” said the DF Principal. Bwanika and Mpuuga asked the people of Masaka to attend and keenly follow Kyagulanyi’s speech during his upcoming Masaka rally slated for 29th November.

“After that we, shall be in position to tell you whether we support him for President or not. It will all depend on what he tells the people of Masaka about us at his rally that day,” said Bwanika who in a fiery speech had erupted on Kyagulanyi while imploring the people of Masaka to elect several DF candidates.

Bwanika, who had no kind words for old woman Florence Namayanja as incumbent Masaka Mayor, also used the rally to publicise the great achievements the trio of him, Woman MP Juliet Kakande and Mpuuga had accomplished for Masaka City (including the roads, the stadium etc). On Namayanja (who he called ‘my sister’ because they both belong to Mutima/heart clan), Bwanika said she knows the bitter truth that she lacks the requisite academic qualifications and that in 2021 she had survived disqualification because he personally used his connections to get the EC bosses back off.

“She called me to her house and I said my sister bring all your papers and I scrutinize them as we design the best strategy to fight for you. Some people had petitioned the EC challenging her qualifications and I concluded that her papers weren’t adding up. I told her as much but encouraged her by saying you leave everything to me and that’s how I weighed in and the EC backed off. I’m now surprised she can be ungrateful to the extent of decampaigning me,” Bwanika said about the Masaka Mayor against whom DF has fronted Nyendo-Mukungwe division Mayor Mulindwa Nakumusana, also a former Mengo official.

Whereas Bwanika said there was no way Namayanja couldn’t have done much for the people of Masaka as Mayor because of budget limitations (as all the mega infrastructural projects were lobbied in Kampala by him and Mpuuga), Mpuuga advised that Namayanja ought to just retire from politics and generally public life on the account of being a person of advanced age.

Bwanika demanded that credit wholly goes to him, Kakande and Mpuuga for all the major infrastructural projects in Masaka city because it’s them who have been using the platform of Parliament in Kampala to lobby for everything since Namayanja’s council simply doesn’t have the money to do even a fraction of what has ben accomplished in the last five years.

The confident-talking Abed Bwanika (aka Omugalatiya/the Galatian) assured haters that the re-election of the trio was simply unstoppable and made it clear he is going to emerge victorious on 15th January as the Kimanya-Kabonera MP whether Kyagulanyi’s foot soldiers like it or not
