Ugandan socialites who have faced the law
Uganda’s entertainment and social scene has produced countless stars, but not every spotlight moment is glamorous.
Over the years, several celebrities and socialites have found themselves entangled in major criminal cases, from fraud and cyber harassment to robbery and sexual exploitation.
Here is our “Jail Edition”, listing some of the most talked-about arrests involving Ugandan public figures.
1. Sipapa (Charles Olimu)
Once known for his flashy lifestyle, Sipapa’s world came crashing down in 2022 when he was arrested and charged with masterminding an aggravated robbery valued at Shs 1.6 billion from South Sudanese national Jacob Arok in Bunga, Wakiso District.
His trial is still ongoing.
2. Don Nasser (Nduhukire Nasser)
In September 2024, Don Nasser was arrested in Malaba, Tororo District on accusations of enticing young girls into sexual exploitation, drug abuse, and pornography.
He was later granted a cash bail of Shs 3 million in December 2024 as investigations continued.
3. Pressure 24/7 (Ibrahim Musana)
The outspoken TikToker found himself behind bars in February 2024 after being charged with offensive communication and hate speech targeting political and cultural leaders.
In September 2025, the case was dismissed after the state failed to produce witnesses.
4. Bad Black (Shanita Namuyimbwa)
In 2012, socialite Bad Black was convicted of fraud for embezzling Shs 11 billion from her then partner David Greenhalgh.
She was sentenced to four years in prison and was released in March 2016 after serving the full term.
5. Frank Gashumba
Gashumba was arrested in October 2017 over allegations of impersonating a defence official and defrauding a Turkish investor of Shs 79.9 billion in a fake fire-truck procurement scheme.
The case was later dismissed in 2019.
6. Alien Skin (Patrick Mulwana)
The Fangone Forest boss spent time in Luzira Prison in November 2024 after being arrested on charges including robbery and assault.
He was later released on police bond as his legal battles continued.
7. Frank Ntambi
Social media critic Frank Ntambi was arrested in August 2025 after Jeff Kiwa accused him of cyber harassment and malicious damage.
He spent a few days on remand in Luzira before securing bail of Shs 500,000. The case is still ongoing in Makindye Court.
8. Bryan White (Brian Kirumira)
In October 2025, Bryan White was arrested following the death of 25-year-old Carol Nalubwama, who reportedly suffered burns during an alleged cultural ritual at his home in Makindye.
He is currently on remand as investigations continue.
