TikTok star Peller apologises after car crash incident
Popular TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, has apologised to Nigerians after being arrested and detained by the Lagos State Police Command for a deliberate car crash on the Lekki–Epe Expressway.
The 20-year-old social media personality was reportedly overwhelmed by emotions following a breakup with fellow TikToker Amadou Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis. The incident occurred during an emotional livestream.
In a video shared online on Friday, Peller expressed remorse, saying, “I am sorry for everything I do. I allowed my emotions to get the better of me; that’s why I behave that way. You can abuse me, I didn’t behave that way intentionally, please, forgive me.”
He also pleaded with the public to stop targeting his former girlfriend, Jarvis, emphasising that she was not responsible for his actions.
Following the crash, Jarvis faced online backlash and cyberbullying, prompting her to visit Peller’s mother to discuss his well-being and the status of their relationship.
Peller reminded Nigerians, “Please, don’t bully Jarvis, it’s not on her. It does not concern her; it’s on me. I am really sorry.”
The couple’s relationship had been turbulent since Peller’s proposal in December 2024, with Jarvis revealing in September that she had yet to marry due to unresolved issues.
