George Conway Says Trump 'Doesn't Know' How to Deal With Kamala Harris
Donald Trump does not know how to deal with Kamala Harris and is scared that he will go to jail if she wins the presidential election, according to attorney and political commentator George Conway.
The long-standing critic of the former president said Trump is struggling for the kind of attention Harris is getting in the media and from the public.
In an interview with MSNBC, Conway said: "Not only is [Trump] losing the battle every day and not only does he not know how to deal with this woman who has really set off a celebration of normality … she is getting the praise and the applause that he desperately wants to have."
Conway added: "He realizes he's that much closer to going to jail, because that's the reason he's fundamentally running here. He wants to run to stay out of jail."
Newsweek has contacted Trump's team via email for comment.

Harris is ahead of Trump in multiple polls, taking the lead with several national aggregators. Real Clear Polling gives her 47.4 percent over Trump's 46.9, and 538 puts Harris at 45.3 percent, over Trump's 43.4.
Multiple betting companies now have Harris as the favorite to win the November election. Betfair, for example, switched from Trump as recently as Wednesday.
Harris revealed her new running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, on Tuesday, and they appeared together at a rally in Philadelphia later that night.
Walz has a reputation as a progressive figure: he enshrined the right to abortion into law and has funded free school meals for children.
Republicans have taken aim at him, often classing him as soft on crime, criticizing his handling of the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis, in 2020.
On Tuesday, JD Vance told Fox News: "They make an interesting tag team, because, of course, Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020."
He went on to say that her choice shows "that she doesn't care about the border, she doesn't care about crime, she doesn't care about American energy and, most importantly, she doesn't care about the Americans who have been made to suffer under those policies."
Kamala Harris speaks at a campaign event in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on Wednesday. Harris is ahead in multiple national election polls and Trump does not know how to handle her, says George Conway.
Walz has defended how he handled the protests multiple times. In 2020, his office told the Minneapolis Star Tribune: "As a 24-year veteran of the Minnesota National Guard, Governor Walz knows how much planning goes into a successful mission."
Vance has also attacked Walz's military record. The Ohio Senator, who served in Iraq in the Marine Corps as a public affairs specialist, told a news conference in Michigan on Wednesday: "When Tim Walz was asked by his country to go to Iraq, do you know what he did? He dropped out of the Army and allowed his unit to go without him—a fact that he's been criticized for aggressively by a lot of the people that he served with.
"I think it's shameful to prepare your unit to go to Iraq, to make a promise that you're going to follow through, and then to drop out right before you actually have to go."
Walz was aged 41 when he honorably retired. A Harris campaign spokesperson said in response: "After 24 years of military service, Governor Walz retired in 2005 and ran for Congress, where he chaired Veterans Affairs and was a tireless advocate for our men and women in uniform—and as Vice President, he will continue to be a relentless champion for our veterans and military families."
