KABALE: Traditional Healer John Kabango Laid to Rest in Ndorwa West
The late renowned traditional healer, John Kabango, was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kahugye Sub-county, Ndorwa West, with a heartfelt call to parents to instill positive values in their children.
Born on May 18, 1925, John Kabango lived a fulfilling life of 100 years and 7 months, leaving behind 14 surviving children, 57 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
During the funeral service at Rubaya Church of Uganda Parish, Archdeacon Ven. Justus Mwesigwa of Rwankyerere Archdeaconry emphasized the importance of self-love and appreciation for one’s roots. He condemned the practice of parents discouraging their children, citing examples of those who tell their children they are born poor and will die poor.
Mwesigwa urged the community to work hard and not rely on politicians’ handouts, saying, “The money from them is not enough to sustain your families.” He also warned against family conflicts over inheritance, advising families to focus on building more.
Counsel Eliab Naturinda Mporera, the NRM flag bearer for Ndorwa West, announced the withdrawal of Ndorwa West candidate Hon. Mastsiko Gilbert Bigwera from the race, calling for peaceful elections.
The late Kabango’s children remembered him as a dedicated traditional healer who valued education and helped many.
