Tororo in Shock as Police Probe Brutal Murder of 17-Year-Old Female Student

Tororo District has been thrown into mourning and shock following the gruesome murder of a 17-year-old student, identified as Achieng Precious Lucy, a resident of Pajwenda North Zone, Pajwenda Ward, Pajwenda Town Council.
According to police in Bukedi South Region, the incident occurred on the night of 29th December 2025 at around 9:00 pm.
Reports indicate that the deceased had left her mother’s hotel in Pajwenda Trading Centre with two chapatis and a cup of tea, before heading home.
Moments later, her younger brother, Odell Moses Junior, stumbled upon a horrifying scene, his sister lying in a pool of blood inside an incomplete house near their residence.
Odell Junior then rushed back to inform their mother, who immediately responded to the scene, only to find her daughter lifeless and naked.
Bukedi South Police spokesperson, Mugwe confirmed that a team of uniformed officers, homicide detectives, canine police, and scene-of-crime officers swiftly documented the area.
A police dog introduced at the crime scene tracked directly into the home of one of the suspects, Tego Henry, a 27-year-old resident of Pajwenda North Zone.
Three suspects have since been arrested to aid investigations:

Ochieng Stephen, 40, businessman from Pajwenda Central A Zone
Tingu Derrick, 22, bar attendant from Pajwenda Trading Centre
The body of the deceased was conveyed to Tororo Main Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
Preliminary findings revealed a forehead injury, raising suspicions of foul play.
Police have strongly condemned the act of violence, with Mugwe emphasizing that credible evidence will be gathered to ensure the suspects face justice in court.
He added that such accountability will serve as a deterrent to would-be perpetrators.
