EXCLUSIVE! Mbale Main Prisons Senior Officer Abandons Job, Goes AWOL
NO.P/B/322, SP Nicholas Bushaija, the Deputy Officer In Charge Mbale Main Prison, allegedly handed his resignation letter to a junior officer, a station clerk and left the barracks on 7th January, 2026.
This information is revealed in an official communication by the Superintendent Mbale Main Prison and addressed to Prisons Headquarters, Regional Prisons Commander Eastern and Mbale DPC.
Reasons for the untimely resignation are not provided in the communication, though it clearly refers the development as regretful.
“Regret to inform you that NO.P/B/322, SP Nicholas Bushaija, the Deputy Officer In Charge Mbale Main Prison, today 7th January, 2026 at about 0400hrs handed letter of resignation from Uganda Prison Service to station clerk and left the barracks,” reads the communication in part.
