Catherine Kusasira aims for US, China, or Dubai ambassadorship after completing degree
Musician and presidential adviser Catherine Kusasira has revealed her ambition to take on a major diplomatic role, expressing interest in becoming Uganda’s Ambassador to either the United States, China, or Dubai.
Speaking in the wake of President Yoweri Museveni’s re-election, Kusasira said she is hopeful for a bigger office in the next government reshuffle, citing her recent academic achievements as a key qualification for the role.
I intend to ask for the US, China or Dubai because I studied for it. I recently completed a course in International Relations at university, so I expect the best.
The singer-turned-political figure noted that her decision to return to school was part of a broader plan to secure her future beyond music, especially after the entertainment industry was hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kusasira also disclosed that her husband recently graduated with a Law degree and that she hopes he, too, will be considered for a significant government role, specifically at the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
We both went back to school because we aren’t going to die in music. COVID presented many challenges, and we decided the best thing to do was to study and create a next plan.
