I Have No Bad Blood With Geoffrey Lutaaya – Haruna Mubiru

Musician Haruna Mubiru has dismissed allegations by fellow artist Geoffrey Lutaaya, who claimed Mubiru was involved in manipulating election results in Kyotera District.

Earlier this week, Lutaaya alleged that Mubiru, together with Minister Haruna Kasolo, influenced the returning officer to declare a rival candidate the winner in the Kakuuto County parliamentary race. He claimed the two arrived at the tally centre and that everything changed shortly after, including the declaration of results.

However, speaking in an interview with a local television station, Haruna Mubiru strongly denied the accusations, insisting he had no role in the Kyotera elections.

“I heard the allegations, but they are not true. I have no bad blood with Geoffrey Lutaaya. I did not involve myself in the Kyotera elections because I have no interest in them. I am friends with Minister Haruna Kasolo and had only escorted him,” Mubiru said.

He added that he holds no grudges against Lutaaya and wishes fellow musicians well in their political pursuits.

Mubiru further revealed that he has supported several artistes-turned-politicians, including Dr Hilderman and Kayemba Solomon, during their campaigns in Bukomansimbi District.
