Court Dismisses All Cases Against 7 Nup Supporters Charged In Mbarara
Court in Mbarara has dismissed cases against several supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) who were arrested last year.
According to the magistrate, the cases were dismissed because the prosecution failed to provide sufficient evidence against the accused.
So far, only 7 out of the 15 supporters have been freed, while the remaining 8 are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow. Supporters are still fundraising to help facilitate these cases, as the remaining funds are running low and over 1,000 people are reportedly still in jail awaiting similar legal processes.
