Rejection from Lydia Jazmine’s camp led to Nutty Neithan’s hit song ‘Ensi Temala’
Nutty Neithan says that being ignored by Lydia Jazmine’s camp unexpectedly pushed him into releasing one of his biggest songs, “Ensi Temala.”
The singer, songwriter and producer says that as a creative, he often writes songs with specific artists in mind, especially when he feels a particular voice or style would suit the music better than his own.
However, not every artist or management team is receptive to such ideas.
According to Neithan, “Ensi Temala” was initially written for Lydia Jazmine, but the song never made it past her management.
Some people just show off for no specific reason. Ensi Temala was supposed to be for Lydia Jazmine but her manager at the time said no.
Left with no option, Nutty Neithan decided to record and release the song himself.
The gamble paid off, as “Ensi Temala” went on to become a massive hit across the country, earning him recognition not just as a writer and producer, but also as a strong recording artist in his own right.
Following that experience, Neithan says he has become more selective about who he shares his work with in the music industry. He explains that his main concern is protecting his art from being misused or underappreciated.
Despite the setback with Lydia Jazmine’s camp, Nutty Neithan notes that his journey has also been filled with positive collaborations.
He says artists like Lilian Mbabazi and Ceaserous fully appreciated his work, adding that there are other big names he has worked with but prefers to keep unnamed at their request.
