Fred Mbidde: Ava Peace’s music stands out despite industry disconnect
Veteran politician and public figure Fred Mukasa Mbidde has shared his thoughts on which female artiste from Uganda’s younger generation he believes is making a notable impact on the music scene.
Speaking during an interview on Sanyuka Uncut, Mbidde singled out singer Ava Peace as one of the artistes who stands out to him, even though he admits he does not closely follow the music industry.
Ava Peace. I do not know her music but I know her. She used to sing with Mudra, right? Yes. I find the songs interesting and I dance to them. I listen to local music, it is just that I do not follow up much on the artistes.
His remarks suggest that while he may not be deeply invested in tracking individual artistes, Ava Peace’s music has managed to catch his attention through its appeal and danceability.
When asked whether he was familiar with other rising female artistes, the interviewer mentioned Gloria Bugie.
However, Mbidde’s response was brief and direct.
I don’t know her.
