Fresh details have emerged about the death of Diana Namulinde, a popular TikToker, whose body was found in her apartment in Kyanja, Kampala City.
Detectives close to this investigation, who preferred not to be mentioned, informed this publication that at around 9am on Monday, a security guard from Gibeon security system was intercepted and arrested by his supervisor at Kisasi, Northern Bypass with two big suitcases and a laptop bag as he was running away after being asked a lot of questions and he could not respond.
The detective said the guard was arrested and taken to Kensington police post, where he was charged with possession of suspected stolen property.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to having stolen the said items from an apartment near the place were he was deployed, the items included mobile phones, an iPhone 17 promax silver in colour, a Samsung, shades, a watch, female bags, and other things closed in a white, coffee brown suitcases and two black backpack,” the detective said.
In the course of investigation, police detectives established that the stolen items belonged to Diana Namulinde. Namulinde, 24, a resident of Nicholas apartment in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja was an online businesswoman dealing in jewels, shoes, bags, and perfumes. On Tuesday, at around 3:40pm, a man identified as Bernard Lukwago, 32, a resident of Bahai Kisasi, went to the Kensington police post and reported that his girlfriend (Namulinde) had not picked his calls, nor response to text and WhatsApp messages, and he suspected that some thing wrong had happened to her.
Mr Lukwago later proceeded to Kyanja, where Namulinde was staying at her rented house, and observed abnormal locking and burglary. As he was still there, the caretaker told him not to tamper with the house but rather to go back to the police and inform them because he had heard that there was a suspect who had been arrested with property belonging to Namulinde. Mr Lukwago went back to police to find out exactly what could have happened. Officers at Kensington police station went with him to the crime scene, they saw a padlock and keys were put nearby, police officers got a stick and pulled the keys and opened the door, proceeded to her bedroom where Namulinde was found lying upside down with blood and saliva oozing from her mouth and nose.
