Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media suggest that Barbie Kyagulanyi, the wife of former presidential candidate and NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, has allegedly fled the country.

According to the claims, Barbie reportedly left Uganda shortly after being discharged from Nsambya Hospital, following a reported break-in at her home in Magere.

Sources online allege that Barbie Kyagulanyi quietly flew out of the country for what has been described as “safe custody,” with reports indicating that she is now in the United States of America, where she is expected to reunite with her children who allegedly left earlier before the elections.

The alleged development comes at a tense time, as Bobi Wine is said to be in hiding, amid reports that he is being sought by security agencies over undisclosed matters.

Meanwhile, both Army and Police forces are said to have tightened security around Bobi Wine’s residence in Magere, Kasangati, Wakiso District, further fueling speculation about the family’s safety and political pressure.

By press time, there has been no official statement from Barbie Kyagulanyi or the NUP leadership to confirm or deny the reports.
