On Live TV Show, David Kabanda Narrates How Thomas Tayebwa Saved Baryomunsi from General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Wrath
The PLU Secretary General David Kabanda, also Kasambya County MP, has hinted on the behind-the-scenes efforts that culminated into cessation of direct online hostilities between his boss Gen MK on one hand and the information minister Chris Baryomunsi on the other.
Appearing on Bukedde TV’s Akabinkano program on Monday evening, Kabanda said that Baryomunsi was saved by Speaker Thomas Tayebwa who he claimed reached out to the First Lady Janet Museveni imploring her to plead with her son Gen MK to de-escalate.
Kabanda claimed that the duo of Baryomunsi and Tayebwa are good political allies, adding that the latter was left with no option but to weigh in after it became clear that his fellow big man (Chris Baryomunsi, who he described as his ally) was on the verge of being totally obliterated.
Kabanda claimed that without that intercession by Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, Baryomunsi would by now be politically dead meat, given the unprecedented online offensive the PLU adherents were about to unleash.
He added that even when Janet Museveni insisted that her son MK stops destroying her fellow Minister on X, the PLU offensive against Baryomunsi was far from over. He implied that the anti-Baryomunsi fight will now carry on but in a different form and that it will end in total annihilation of the man who has been Kinkizi East MP since the year 2006.
He wanted to spill all the secrets demonstrating the full extent of Baryomunsi’s vulnerability but changed his mind; making it clear that if he poured out everything, Karoli Seruga Matovu, the moderator for the Bukedde program, would lose his job and cease to be an employee of the Vision Group, for letting him say so much.
He added that he had decided to leave it at that because he didn’t want Seruga to become jobless.
Kabanda also congratulated Seruga Matovu over the fact that the Uganda Media Centre, which is his other place of work for day time moments, had finally got a new Executive Director in the names of Allan Kasujja. He is the man replacing Ofwono Opondo who has since become an MP for older persons.
