Police K9 ‘Pepper’ Tracks Murder Suspects to Dusuma Garage, Wandegeya
KAMPALA, Uganda — Police in Wandegeya have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 34-year-old man whose body was discovered near Dusuma Garage.
The deceased, identified as Kabugo, was found lying near the garage fence early yesterday morning after police received a tip-off at around 8:00 a.m.
Officers promptly responded to the scene and deployed the Police K9 unit to support investigations. The sniffer dog, Pepper, picked up a scent from the body and began tracking movements believed to be linked to the suspected perpetrators.
The dog first entered the house of the garage askari before returning to the garage yard, circling the fence and eventually settling at a particular spot within the premises.
Handlers confirmed that Pepper lay down at the location — a signal indicating the presence of significant evidence. A metal bar with visible bloodstains was recovered from the spot.
Police later conducted a search of the askari’s residence, where spears and arrows were also recovered.
The suspects, identified as Ssebuya and Johnson, are currently in custody at Wandegeya Police Division pending further investigations.
