BREAKING! Instant Traffic Management Fines System Goes Live
The Ministry of Transport has announced that the Instant Management Fines System has gone live effective immediately.
A public statement issued on Monday, March 9, 2026 by the National Transport and Safety Authority, (NTSA) says the new system will now issue traffic violation notifications on SMS where applicable.
NTSA says the process is a hundred percent automated and operates without human intervention which ensures greater efficiency, transparency and accountability in traffic enforcement.
The fines are to be paid to any KCB Branch within 7 days, failure will attract extra penalties such as the amount earning interest and the driver/vehicle with pending fine not being able to transact on NTSA service platforms until the fine is settled.
This is an improved version of Uganda’s Automated Express Penalty System (EPS) which was temporarily halted pending review.
