Child knocked dead in Nakasongola

In what is beginning to look like a daily blood ritual, at least one person has died and five others have been injured in a road crash in Nakasongola district along Kampala -Gulu highway.

The crash occurred yesterday at around 11:50 am at Sasira Trading Centre located in Wabinyonyi subcounty in Nakasongola district along the Kampala-Gulu Highway.

The bloody death involved two motor vehicles; a Subaru Forester registration number UA 969 AD and Taxi Toyota Hiace registration number UA 525DA.

ASP Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, explains that the crash occurred when a driver of Subaru Forester heading towards Gulu attempted to overtake another vehicle within the trading centre but lost control and collided with the parked taxi which was loading passengers.

Earlier before that yesterday, a woman and her child died on the spot after a trailer crashed into their house at Ngogolo village in Butuntumula subcounty in Luwero district along Kampala -Gulu highway.

On Friday, three people died and eight others injured in another accident at Nkonde Village, Nyimbwa Sub-County near Kalule trading center, Luwero district along the Kampala-Gulu Highway.
