BREAKING! UNEB Sets Terms for 2024, 2025 UCE Candidates Wishing to Repeat
S.4 REPEATERS CIRCULAR
The Uganda National Examinations Board, (UNEB) has permitted schools to admit learners who studied under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), for UCE in 2024 and 2025, and wish to repeat.
In a press statement issued on 17th March, 2026 UNEB gives guidelines to be strictly followed in admission and assessment of such learners including some learners who completed Senior Three (S.3) under the CBC but were unable to progress to Senior Four (S.4) and now seek to resume their studies.
“The Board hereby guides head teachers to admit such learners, provided they fulfill the requirements outlined below,” reads the statement signed by UNEB’s ED, Dan Odongo.
First and foremost, such learners MUST attend classes of S.4 2026 and be assessed at school.
These learners’ CA Assessment scores for Activities of Integration and Subject Achievements for S.4 Term One and Two, 2026 have to be compiled and submitted to UNEB.
Additionally, such learners should have been assessed at school while in S.3 and their scores submitted to UNEB.
S.4 Repeaters should review their project work for implementation, reporting and dissemination competency for assessment and submission to UNEB.
The Candidates MUST also maintain the subjects registered while at S.3.
Odongo says schools with such learners should follow the submission timelines in the circular dated 26th February, 2026.
Meanwhile, the S.3 Repeaters should continue with their project for implementation, reporting and dissemination competency for assessment and submission to UNEB.
