Sheba Ampaire Ronah is the new FUFA deputy CEO

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced a new top management team following the approval of a revised secretariat structure aimed at improving governance and operational efficiency.

The changes were confirmed by FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson Suubi after the 35th FUFA Executive Committee endorsed the new organogram, which is intended to streamline internal systems and strengthen the federation’s administrative capacity.

Central to the reshuffle is the appointment of Sheba Ampaire Ronah as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, a role she will officially assume on April 1, 2026. Her elevation is seen as a key step in reinforcing leadership within the federation’s secretariat.

Sheba, who joined FUFA in 2021 as Legal Officer, has been instrumental in enhancing judicial processes and ensuring compliance with both local and international football regulations. During her tenure, she played a significant role in improving accountability and consistency across the federation’s legal framework.

In her new position, she will deputise the CEO while overseeing critical administrative functions, including member relations and organisational development.

She brings a strong academic and professional background, holding a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She has also attained international certifications in football administration, including the FIFA Professional Club Management Certification and the FAMACO 3 programme.

The newly constituted management team also features several key appointments across various departments. Bakiika Samuel will head Finance and Corporate Governance, while Mandu Humphrey Watenga takes charge of Services, Research Planning and Projects.

Mubiru Shawn has been named Competitions Director, replacing long serving Aisha Nalule with Ahmed Hussein overseeing Corporate Affairs.

FUFA noted that the team will provide strategic and operational oversight within their respective portfolios, ensuring alignment with the federation’s broader objectives.

The revamped structure is part of ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing professionalism, improving service delivery and fostering better coordination with stakeholders. FUFA believes the changes will support the sustainable growth of football in Uganda while strengthening accountability and institutional efficiency.
