Kabale Police Receives New Patrol Vehicle to Boost Security ,Response
Police in Kabale District have strengthened their law enforcement capabilities following the acquisition of a new patrol vehicle from police headquarters.
The vehicle, bearing registration number UP 00278, was officially handed over to Kabale Central Police Station on March 28, 2026. Authorities say the addition will improve operational efficiency and enhance the district’s capacity to respond promptly to emergencies.
Kabale District Police Commander, Charles Okello, welcomed the vehicle, noting that it will significantly enhance officers’ mobility and ensure faster response times across the district.
“The vehicle will enable us to respond quickly to incidents, improving policing and service delivery throughout Kabale,” Okello said.
Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, Elly Maate , described the handover as a vital step in reinforcing regional security.
He added that the vehicle will not only benefit Kabale District but also support broader policing efforts aimed at maintaining a crime-free society.
“This is the second vehicle allocated in the region, following a similar deployment in Rukungiri District last year. More districts will receive logistical support in line with police leadership commitments,” Maate said.
Police leaders expressed gratitude to the President, the Inspector General of Police, and the Directorates of Operations and Logistics for their continued support in equipping officers with essential resources.
