The Buganda Kingdom has extended its heartfelt condolences to Omutaka Abdul Migadde Kasujju Lubinga following the death of his son, Bashir Nandere.

The condolence message was delivered by Hajj Amisi Kakomo during a special Duwa (Islamic prayer gathering) held at Kangundu in Busujju.

Speaking on behalf of the Kingdom, Kakomo encouraged the bereaved father to remain strong during this difficult time and expressed deep sympathy for the children left behind after the sudden loss of their father.

“The Kingdom stands with you in this painful moment and prays that Allah grants mercy to the departed and gives strength to the family he has left behind,” he said.

Kasujju Lubinga expressed his gratitude to the Kabaka and the Buganda Kingdom for their support from the time news of his son’s death was received. He also thanked all individuals who have stood by him during this period of mourning.

The Duwa prayers were led by the District Khadhi of Mityana, Sheikh Ali Kasaliko, who urged family members and guardians to take good care of the deceased’s children. He also condemned the practice of selling off burial grounds and neglecting ancestral graves.

During the gathering, Nnalinya Beatrice Namikka commended Kasujju Lubinga for his dedicated service within the royal lineage, noting his courage and commitment.

Bashir Nandere passed away in Russia at the beginning of this year and was buried there, denying his family in Uganda the opportunity to give him a final send-off. The Duwa was therefore organized to pray for Allah’s mercy upon his soul.

Meanwhile, Hashim Nkuusa, the son of the deceased, has been installed as the heir of his father.
