The Kiboga magistrates court has remanded to prison, Moses Anguyo, a prison warder accused of shooting dead four people in Kiboga.
Anguyo’s court appearance follows a coordinated cross-border operation that led to his arrest in Aru Village, Democratic Republic of Congo.
He had fled Uganda and was reportedly hiding on a farm owned by one Andama, where he was being concealed by Hitler Pariyo.
On Tuesday, he was arraigned before grade one magistrate Jonard Kusasira and several murder charges for the killing of Hope Catherine, the deputy officer-in-charge, Bright Akishuri, the third in command and Ayebare on the spot and toddler were read against him.
The court also charged Anguyo of aggravated robbery for allegedly robbing two people including Grace Katusiime and Mary Nabayiga of their property using a gun.
Another charge of threatening violence was also read against him for having allegedly intimidated a victim with threats of death or injury.
The court also charged Peter Anziku , Dickson Okuonzi, and Hellen Amviko Hellen who are Anguyo’s relatives of being accessories after the fact to felony when they allegedly assisted him to evade arrest and escape from lawful custody following the commission of the offences.
The prosecution is represented by senior state attorney Stephen Ariong and state attorney Joan Gaswaga told court investigations into the matter were still ongoing and asked that the group is remanded .
Consequently, trial magistrate, Jonard Kusasira remanded four people to Kitalya Minimax prison while Hellen Amviko was remanded to Luzira women’s wing until April, 24 when they will return for the mention of the case.
