Joyce Bagala Returns to TV After Mityana Election Loss
Former Mityana Woman MP Joyce Bagala has made a return to the media industry following her defeat in the recent elections.
Bagala, who previously served in Parliament, has joined Sanyuka TV, where she will co-host the morning show “Sanyuka Express” alongside Haffy Powers.
Before her political career, Bagala was a well-known journalist at NBS Television, where she gained popularity presenting the Luganda news bulletin “Amasengejje.”
She first entered Parliament in 2021 under the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket.
However, in the 2026 elections, she ran as an independent candidate after being denied the party ticket and lost the seat to Judith Nabakooba of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Bagala is expected to officially exit Parliament in May when newly elected MPs are sworn in.
